BOWLING GREEN -- Bowling Green State University men's basketball guard Rodrick Caldwell was named Mid-American Conference East Division player of the week, the league announced today.
Caldwell, a sophomore guard from Dayton, averaged 20.3 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds as the Falcons went 3-1 last week.
Caldwell scored 18 points to help BG win an overtime contest against Lake Erie Monday, then led the Falcons to a 2-1 record at the Creek Classic hosted by Campbell University over the weekend. Caldwell had 18 points, including 15 in the second half, in a win over USC-Upstate Friday; he scored 20 in a victory over the host school Saturday; and he finished with a career-high 25 in a loss to Abilene Christian Sunday, earning a berth on the all-tournament team.
