BGSU men’s basketball fails to keep pace with Akron despite Mayar Wol’s career night

BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team dropped its second Mid-American Conference game in a row, falling to preseason conference favorite Akron 77-67 on Friday at the Stroh Center.

“Obviously we dug ourselves in a hole,” BGSU coach Todd Simon said. “It’s a game that you wish you had the first eight minutes back where you get down 20, and in the last 32 minutes, you’re up by 10. It’s a tale of those stretches, but we have to be better in those stretches.”

The Zips' offense entered as one of the most efficient in the country, sitting at sixth in the nation for team assists with 20.
