Joe Davidson Named Second Team Academic All-American

Austin, Texas – Bowling Green State University redshirt senior punter Joseph Davidson became the seventh three-time Academic All-American in school history, earning second team CoSIDA Academic All-American honors Thursday afternoon. As selected by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA), Davidson is the only three-time honoree from the 2017 football season.

Davidson, who maintains a 3.96 grade point average in mathematics and finance, was a second team All-American in 2015 and a first team honoree in 2016. He joins John Maroli (Baseball, 1983-85), Linda Popovich (Volleyball, 1987-89), Patrick John Jackson (Football, 1988-90), Ryan Gabel (Tennis, 1996-98), Christine Chiricosta (Tennis, 2009-11) and Pat Flynn (Soccer, 2014-16) as the only three-time Academic All-American designees in BGSU history.
