Santoro not just a scorer

BOWLING GREEN – When Carly Santoro joined the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball program, she brought with her a reputation as a scoring machine.

And that reputation was well-earned. Santoro was a three-time All-Ohio pick at Bellevue High School thanks largely to outrageous scoring numbers that included 2,387 career points – the tenth-best total in Ohio high school girls basketball history.

She averaged 19.1 points per game in her first varsity season at Bellevue – which was her freshman season. Santoro broke the school record for points as a sophomore with 562, then reset that mark with 601 points as a junior, and again with 786 points as a senior.
