Strong 2nd half lifts BGSU women at Northern Illinois

DEKALB, Ill. — Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team took control of things in the second half Saturday at Northern Illinois, rolling to a 65-48 victory.

The visiting Falcons outscored the Huskies 17-9 in the third quarter to take an 11-point lead. BGSU then outscored NIU 23-17 in the final quarter, with the Falcons closing things out with a 21-9 run in the final 7½ minutes after Northern Illinois had cut its deficit to five points.

Kendal Moxey led Bowling Green (9-6, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) with 15 points. The Falcons enjoyed balanced production elsewhere, with Lauren Gerken scoring 11 points and Johnea Donahue, Paige Kohler, and Kaia Woods each putting in 10.
