Dunne Earns First Irish Call-Up

Young Clarets defender Jimmy Dunne has been drafted back into the Republic of Ireland squad for their make-or-break Nations League tie with Denmark next week.

The 21-year-old, who us currently enjoying an impressive loan spell at Scottish Premier League Hearts – had been one of 13 defenders named in Ireland's provisional 36-man squad.

After spending a week training with the squad, a whittling down of numbers meant Dunne left the camp ahead of Thursday’s goalless draw with Northern Ireland in Dublin.

Injuries, however, have now led to a first full call-up to Martin O’Neill’s squad and the U21 international will link up with fellow Clarets Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick and Kevin Long ahead of the trip to Aarhus on Monday, 19 November.
