Captain Anthony Glennon believes the Clarets earned a fitting reward after booking their place in the last 16 of the U23 Premier League Cup.
Steve Stone’s side came through a tough group including Category One sides Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion, who both missed out as Burnley and Bournemouth qualified for the knock-out stages.
And the Clarets had to do it the hard way by recovering from a 7-1 beating by Bournemouth in their opening Group C game before beating West Brom 1-0 in a winner-takes all decider to snatch top spot and a home tie in the next round.
