Reds recap: Offense silenced in loss to Marlins

The Cincinnati Reds continued their second-half slide, falling 3-1 to the Miami Marlins on Friday at Great American Ball Park. Here are the main storylines.

Homer Bailey battled through six innings. The right-hander didn’t have a single innings that would qualify as breezy, but still turned in a solid outing. Bailey gave up two runs – both in the first inning – while scattering eight hits and two walks over six innings. He threw just 87 pitches.

The Marlins got to him early, lacing a single and a double off him to start the game.
