Robert Stephenson’s start Saturday wasn’t an audition — it’s the first part of an audition.
Stephenson, no matter what happened in Saturday’s game against the Marlins, is in the Reds’ rotation for the foreseeable future. So, too, is right-hander Sal Romano.
“This is an opportunity for Rob to be in the rotation,” Reds manager Bryan Price said. “We also know that (Anthony DeSclafani) will be back here in the next few weeks and that Scott (Feldman) could rebound from that quicker than we initially anticipated. There may be a need to take a look at our rotation a few weeks from now.
