The Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday will introduce Curt Onalfo as head coach, the Insider has learned. News of Onalfo’s hiring appeared on the Insider’s Twitter page mid-day Monday.
Onalfo, 47, will replace Bruce Arena, who accepted the U.S. national team job two weeks ago.
Onalfo, a University of Virginia graduate, joined the L.A. organization six years ago as an assistant coach and oversaw the Galaxy’s third-division team the past three USL seasons. With several L.A. prospects on the squad, Los Dos posted a 41-25-20 regular season record in Onalfo’s tenure.
This is his third MLS head coaching gig following spells with Kansas City (2007-09) and D.
