According to journalist Lucho Torres Toranzo, D.C. United has agreed to a loan for Luciano Acosta, a 21-year old attacking midfielder from Argentina's famed Boca Juniors. The loan would be for one year with an option to buy, and Boca's manager has apparently told Toranzo that "Luciano Acosta will be a D.C. United player." United has declined to comment on this information.
Acosta has been in the Boca pipeline since the age of 13 and played 25 games with Boca's first team in 2014 before going out on loan to Estudiantes de la Plata in 2015 (oddly enough, home of recent D.
