Klinsmann adds 4 players to U.S. roster

Jurgen Klinsmann announced his winter training camp this week with the caveat that he would add players over the month-long session.

With workouts set to begin Monday at StubHub Center, the U.S. national soccer team coach made his first moves Friday by inviting four players and trimming two injured call-ups.

In: center back Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), defensive midfielder Perry Kitchen (DCU, out of contract), goalkeeper David Bingham (San Jose Earthquakes) and left back Brandon Vincent (Stanford University).

Out: San Jose midfielder Fatai Alashe (groin) and San Jose defender Marc Pelosi (tendinitis).

Birnbaum and Kitchen received their first caps last winter.
