Jurgen Klinsmann’s 40-man preliminary roster ahead of Copa America includes the usual collection of World Cup veterans and a group of prospects, including 17-year-old attacker Christian Pulisic and MLS rookie Jordan Morris.
Klinsmann must trim the list to 23 by May 20. Copa America begins June 3 with the United States facing Colombia at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The other group matches are against Costa Rica in Chicago and Paraguay in Philadelphia.
U.S. training camp will open in two weeks with European- and Mexican-based players. The MLS delegation will not arrive until after the May 21-22 league matches.
