Needing victories, D.C. United settles for another draw

D.C. United will probably remain in the playoff race for a good long time. After all, MLS is generous with postseason berths and the Eastern Conference isn’t very good. So United will linger.

While ample time remains in the race, time is getting short on becoming a good team.

United continues to meander through the season, settling for a second consecutive draw at RFK Stadium and fourth tie in the past six matches (0-2-4). Its 4-4-3 record at home is the poorest in the league. The four-game homestand began with a tie against Montreal and continued with a draw against Philadelphia on Saturday, 2-2.
