JOHNSON STARTS, MAKES IT CLEAR WHY

Rookie safety John Johnson started at strong safety and made it clear why he was in the game early and often.

The Boston College product broke up a few deep passes early — when it was clear the Seahawks were trying to text the young player. Then in the second quarter, Johnson made a key takeaway that put the Rams in position to score.

Seattle had the ball on Los Angeles’ 15, when Johnson undercut tight end Luke Willson’s route and intercepted quarterback Russell Wilson’s pass. Johnson nearly returned the pick to the house, but was stopped at Seattle’s 19-yard line.
