Miami (AFP) - Seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson signed with the Miami Heat on Sunday after having been released by the Brooklyn Nets.

The Heat hope that Johnson, a 34-year-old who can serve as both small forward and shooting guard, can provide a boost heading into the playoffs, with Miami ranking fourth in the Eastern Conference at 32-26.
