Will the depleted Grizzlies still be able to compete for the playoffs?
Usually in mid-March, the Memphis Grizzlies are gearing up for a playoff run. This year, they’re just trying to survive.
At some point, every team faces adversity, but the Grizzlies haven’t been able to catch a break this season. Memphis still comfortably holds the fifth seed in the West, but the Grizzlies currently boast a young and incredibly inexperienced roster, as they have lost a slew of key players in a very short amount of time.
Perhaps the biggest blow to Memphis was in fact the first one, as All-Star Marc Gasol fractured his right foot in early February and will miss the remainder of the year.
