The 2017 MLS season is over. And that means the 2018 offseason is beginning in earnest.
The offseason will formally kick off bright and early at 6:00 a.m. PT on Sunday when the MLS half-day trade window opens before closing at 10:00 a.m. in anticipation of Tueaday’s Expansion Draft.
Two factors make this four-hour trade window likely to be especially active. First, on Sunday afternoon teams have to release their protected lists for the Expansion Draft. To do so, many teams will want to get certain roster decisions finalized so that they don’t have to protect players they’ll ultimately send away.
