Jamison Olave is leaving Real Salt Lake after seven years with the club, the player tweeted earlier today.
Olave, 35, said that his “cycle as a player with RSL ended” and thanked RSL fans and his teammates in the message, as well as the club.
Olave’s biggest impact on the club came in 2011, when he scored an absolutely brilliant goal in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinal against Saprissa, sending the club to a vaunted final against Monterrey.
The move is likely not a surprise, given his salary and veteran status; he was unlikely to earn regular minutes behind Justen Glad and Aaron Maund, who have formed a first-choice partnership.
