As expected, play was quick on the small soccer field at Yankee Stadium. Early on, Real Salt Lake nearly paid the price for some poor giveaways and bad marking with David Villa uncharacteristically missing the mark a couple times. It appeared as though the toll of a couple of bad results for New York City FC may have affected the confidence or form of even a world class player of his caliber. RSL kept the ball for good portions of the first half but a few miscues took away that ability to play a possession game away from home and things started to look scattered.
