RSL selects Max Lachowecki with 25th pick in MLS Draft

With their second-round pick in the 2016 MLS Draft, Real Salt Lake selected left back Max Lachowecki from Notre Dame.

Lachowecki, who was at Notre Dame for five years after redshirting his rookie year, played 22 games, scoring three times and contributing five assists. During 2015, he was one of three team captains.

It's unlikely that Lachowecki will immediately make the jump to Real Salt Lake; as we've seen in the past year, several of our picks ended up at Real Monarchs, where they were given regular minutes.

In 2013, Lachowecki played 90 minutes in Notre Dame's NCAA title win over Maryland, which certainly boosts his resume somewhat.
