SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Michael Morse’s fantasy camp with the Giants has hit a major snag. And his chances of making the opening day roster are pretty much shot.
Morse injured his left hamstring while rounding first base in an exhibition game Monday, Giants vice president Brian Sabean said. Morse was being evaluated on Tuesday, but with time running short this spring, there appeared to be little hope that he would recover in time to win a bench role to start the season.
Morse, who turns 35 on Wednesday, has been one of the best stories in camp.
