In a 35-second stretch at the end of the first half Tuesday, Leroy Blyden, Jr.’s 7-0 scoring run took the lid off the rim at Savage Arena.
The University of Toledo freshman finished with 24 points as the Rockets shot a season-high 64.3 percent from the field to beat Ohio for the 10th consecutive meeting, 101-85.
“It was all energy,” Blyden said. “It starts Mynor Strong coming in off the bench with the energy, the fans bringing energy, and when we put rim pressure, we can all score.”
Toledo (10-7, 4-1 MAC) shot better than 60 percent as a team in both halves of the game and 41.
