The Washington Wizards have plans to extend Trae Young to a long-term contract extension this offseason and according to NBA insider Marc Stein, a three-year extension seems to be the most likely scenario.
“I’ve been repeatedly advised to expect Young and the Wizards to come to terms on a contract extension this summer that is widely projected to be a three-year deal,” Stein reported.
When Washington made the bold move to acquire the four-time All-Star, it becamse clear that the Wizards not only envisioned the former No. 5 overall pick as a much-needed answer to their glaring hole in the backcourt, but they viewed the star guard as an addition that could help them get to the next-level of their rebuild.
